Worcester CAB & WHABAC commissioned some independent research into the private rented sector in Worcester (in partnership with the City Council) to examine the feasibility of and possible operational models for a Social Lettings Agency.

The key findings enabled Worcester CAB & WHABAC to develop its operational model, with funding from Crisis, Worcester City Council and Worcestershire County Council, for the SmartLets project. This was also informed by our own experience in operating the SmartMove Scheme over many years and also experience of leasing and managing houses in multiple occupation.

SMARTLETS is a new lettings agency, set up by the charity Worcester Citizens Advice Bureau & WHABAC, to help those finding it difficult in accessing the private rented sector. We offer our Landlords hassle free, hands off approach to letting their properties, producing a business model that not only has a social purpose, but is an attractive and financially viable option for private Landlords.

Our vision is to create tenancies that sustain, and to maintain an excellent relationship with all our Landlords and Tenants by being fair, consistent and efficient.

SMARTLETS works with people who may find it hard to rent private sector accommodation through traditional letting agents.

At SMARTLETS we provide complete referencing for all our tenants through our unique comprehensive assessment and referencing system, "THE TENANTS PASSPORT". We also ensure all our Tenants sign up to our Tenants Code of Conduct and receive full support throughout their tenancy.
